This blog was started to document our walk through jaw distraction surgery and how it is helping Faith overcome some of the serious issues she has faced including obstructive sleep apnea. After researching jaw distraction surgery, we could only find one other T-18 child to have this procedure done. We hope our story will help other families dealing with Trisomy 18 and we look forward to the day God completes the work He has begun in Faith.

Just on the Edge...(Day 35)
Well, it's been 5 weeks in the hospital, but we think tomorrow will be the day. Really Faith could have left today, and the PICU folks would have dismissed us today, but the ENT wanted to wait until at least Monday. Her distracting is going well, and though yesterday (day after surgery) was a little tough for Faith, today was very a very good day for her. She was quite stopped up yesterday, but unleashed the fury today. I spent much of the afternoon cleaning her bed, but oh was she happy. The above pictures were actually taken just prior to surgery, and she is pretty much back to looking like this even though surgery was Friday.
